Trends available so far indicate that the Congress-NCP alliance is leading in 118 constituencies in the 288 member Maharashtra assembly. The BJP-Shiv Sena Combine is ahead in 83, MNS in 12 and others in 36 constituencies. The Chief Minister Ashok Chavan is leading in Bhokar constituency. Deputy Chief Minister and NCP candidate Chhagan Bhujbal is leading in Yevla. The Revenue Minister Narayan Rane of Congress is leading in Kudai and Ajit Pawar of NCP in Baramati. Praniti Shinde, daughter of Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and NCP candidate is leading in Solapur city central. Former Deputy Chief Minister and NCP candidate Mohite Patil Vijaysinh Shankarrao is trailing in Pandharpur constituency.In Haryana, the Congress is leading in 34 constituencies, INLD in 20 and BJP in 4 and others in 18. In Arunachal Pradesh, the congress has already won 6 seats and is leading in 5.The counting of votes which began at 8 this monring is in progress at 288 centres in Maharashtra. Over 1.29 lakh state police and central para-military personnel have been deployed to ensure peaceful counting of votes. Adequate number of Central Para Military Forces have been deployed, mainly in naxal-infested districts like Gadchiroli, to assist the police.In Haryana, Counting is being held at 90 centres for an equal number of seats.
