Amid growing controversies over the Adarsh Housing Society scam, Maharashtra opposition parties met Governor K. Sankaranarayanan on Monday in Mumbai seeking dismissal of the Ashok Chavan government in the scam involving politicians and bureaucrats. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, who had offered to resign over the Adarsh housing society scam, left for Mumbai from Delhi early Monday morning, after meeting Sonia Gandhi. AIR correspondent reports, leaders of key Opposition parties in Maharashtra on Monday met Governor K Sankaranarayanan in Mumbai, seeking dismissal of the Ashok Chavan government over the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society scam. The delegation included Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena leaders and was led by Opposition Leader in State Assembly Eknathrao Khadse. Those who met the Governor included BJP leaders like State BJP President Sudhir Mungantiwar and BJP MLC Vinod Tawde and Sena leaders Subhash Desai, Diwakar Raote and Deepak Sawant among others. The delegation asked the Governor to initiate criminal proceedings against ministers and bureaucrats whose names figure in the scam.
