Maharashtra: Oppositio BJP raises issue of alleged sexual harassment in Jalgaon ladies Hostel in Legislative Assembly

In Maharashtra, the issue of alleged sexual harassment in Jalgaon ladies Hostel was raised by the Opposition BJP in the Legislative Assembly in the ongoing Budget Session today. The issues were raised by MLA Shweta Mahale and BJP leader Sudhir Munganitwar. They expressed displeasure over the ruling government's negligence towards the safety of the women in the state. Home Minister Anil Deshmukh assured that action will be taken within two days after initiating high-level inquiry in the matter. <br />'' <br />''AIR Correspondent reports that Opposition BJP today cornered the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi Government in Legislative Assembly over the alleged sexual harassment in Jalgaon ladies Hostel. BJP MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar and Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis raised questions about the law and order situation in the state.<br />'' <br />''Sudhir Mungantiwar came down heavily on ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi Government for the rising number of atrocities against women in the state. Devendra Fadnavis also pointed out towards the incidences of the atrocities and also highlighted the issue of Puja Chavan death case. He said that even after the clear evidences Beed Police are not probing the case as expected and they are working under tremendous pressure.<br />'' <br />''The Opposition also criticised the government for not sending the resignation of Forest Minister Sanjay Rathod to the Governor. Sudhir Mungantiwar also raised various issues like number of deaths due to COVID-19 in the state, no relief to the energy consumers and criticised the ruling government.<br />
