Maharashtra has been witnessing a severe shortage of oxygen due to the surge in the number of COVID 19 patients. However, the tribal-dominated Nandurbar district is an exception. The district has taken the lead in producing oxygen from the air and has taken steps towards becoming self-sufficient in oxygen.<br />'' <br />''The Nadurbar district Hospital of Maharashtra has the honor of constructing the first project in North Maharashtra to produce oxygen from the air in October 2020, work has now been started on a jumbo project that will supply oxygen to an additional 300 beds. At present Nandurbar District Hospital has two government oxygen production plants which produce 250 jumbo cylinders of oxygen daily. 278 beds are supplied with oxygen. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The third project has begun with 60 jumbo cylinders of oxygen daily production. A third oxygen generation project is being set up in the district hospital premises as per the need. However, it is going to be a jumbo project. It has the capacity to supply oxygen to 300 beds at a time. It is expected to be completed soon. Work on this project has also begun Collector Dr. Rajendra Bharud, District Surgeon Dr. R. D. Bhoye has made efforts to make the district self-sufficient in oxygen.</span><br />
