Maharashtra Legislative Council Polls: MVA wins 3 out of 5 council seats; BJP manages to bag 1

Dnyaneshwar Mhatre from BJP won from the Konkan Teachers Constituency. He defeated MVA candidate Balaram Patil. MVA backed independent candidate Sudhakar Adbale defeated sitting MLC Nago Ganar, who was backed by BJP in Nagpur Teachers Constituency. NCP's Vikram Kale won the Marathwada Teachers Constituency seat by defeating BJP's Kiran Patil.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Independent Candidate and Congress Rebel Satyajit Tambe has won from the Nashik Division Graduates' Constituency. He defeated his nearest rival Shubhangi Patil who was supported by MVA alliance of Shivsena- Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, Congress and NCP.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Voting for five Council seats – three teachers segments falling in Nagpur, Konkan and Aurangabad divisions and two graduates constituencies Nashik and Amravati divisions was held on January 30. The counting of votes began on February 2 morning. Teachers and graduates fulfilling certain criteria and enrolled as voters formed the electoral college for these elections. The polling was held to fill up the upcoming vacancies of five council members.</span></p>
