Maharashtra issues notification for mandatory supply of 80% oxygen for medical use

<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra Health Department instructed a mandatory supply of 80 percent oxygen for Medical use and 20 percent for Industry in the state. In view of the increasing number of corona patients in Maharashtra, the state health department has directed manufacturers in the state to supply 80 percent oxygen for medical use and remaining 20 per cent oxygen for industrial use under the Infectious Diseases Control Act, Disaster Management Act and Maharashtra Essential Services Act. The health department has issued a notification in this regard today to the concerned authorities and it will be applicable across the state till June 30.<br />'' <br />''Dr. Pradeep Vyas, Principal Secretary, Department of Health, said that, in view of the daily increase in the number of patients, manufacturers have been instructed to increase the production of oxygen for medical purposes, the Commissioner of Health and the Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration have been appointed as competent authorities at the state level and the Divisional Commissioner has been made the competent authority at the regional level to look into the issues.The notification will be effective till June 30, 2021.</span><br />
