Maharashtra: Gymnasiums, barber shops, salons & beauty parlours reopen

<span style="color: #222222;">In Maharashtra, gymnasiums, barber shops, salons and beauty parlours have reopened after a hiatus of three months. The salons will have to adhere to the standard operating procedures with regards to hygiene and cleanliness. The Maharashtra government had issued a notification to reopen salons in the state under its 'Mission Begin Again Phase IV'.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports that people have been visiting the salons, beauty parlours and social distancing norms are being strictly followed inside the shops. As a precautionary measure, the equipments are sanitized before they are used, as well as salons are being sanitized after every 2 hours. However, skin related services are not allowed in the salons at present seeing the current pandemic situation. Barbers are seen using gloves and sanitizer. As per the revised guidelines only selective services like hair cut, dyeing and waxing are allowed in the shops.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The government has directed the barber shop owners to use disposal towels, napkins on customers, while non-disposal equipment should be sanitised and sterilised after each service. Opening of salons and beauty parlours take place in the midst of rising number of Covid-19 cases. Yesterday, a highest single day spike of 5,318 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the state taking the total count of cases to 1,59,133. Meanwhile, state home minister Anil Deshmukh said that bravery awards will be given to policemen working in the frontline of the battle against COVID-19. </span><br />''
