Maharashtra government will probe the Jalyukt Shivar water conservation scheme launched by the Devendra Fadnavis- led government.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The decision to initiate a special investigation team -SIT probe into the BJP leader's pet project was approved at a cabinet meeting held in Mumbai today.&nbsp;<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The &quot;Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan&quot;, launched with the objective of making Maharashtra a drought-free state by 2019; involved deepening and widening of streams, construction of cement and earthen stop dams besides digging of farm ponds.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The move comes after the Comptroller and Auditor General of India slammed the scheme's implementation, claiming that despite spending Rs. 9633.75 crore, the mission had little impact in achieving water neutrality and increasing ground water level.</span><br />
