With an aim to increase scheduled tribe representation in the civil service sector, the Maharashtra government has decided to pay a monthly stipend to scheduled tribe candidates preparing for the UPSC exams. <br />'' <br />''State Tribal Development Minister K.C. Padvi yesterday said state government has decided to pay a monthly stipend of Rs 12,000 and a total of Rs 26,000 for the purchase of books for Scheduled Tribes candidates preparing for UPSC's Civil Service Main Examination and Interview. <br />'' <br />''Under this scheme, financial assistance will be given to 25 candidates who have passed the pre-examination of UPSC and are preparing for the main examination and 25 candidates who have passed the main examination and are preparing for the interview. The scheme will be implemented from the year 2020-21.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Padvi said that through the Tribal Research and Training Institute, the eligible students from the Scheduled Tribes will be selected and the amount will be deposited directly in their bank accounts. </span><br />
