While the mass vaccination programme has slowed in Maharashtra due to the shortage of vaccines, but the state is taking effective measures to inoculate the senior citizens and the specially abled people.<br />'' <br />''AIR correspondent reports, Primarily with an aim to cater to the senior citizens and specially abled people, BMC on Thursday added one more drive in Vaccination Centre in suburban Kandivali area of Mumbai.<br />'' <br />''The centre is located at a shopping mall which can be easily accessed by the people.<br />'' <br />''The first drive in Vaccination Centre was opened by Civic body at Dadar in Central Mumbai on the first week of May following which the BMC said that it would open seven more centres shortly.<br />'' <br />''These drive-in Vaccination Centres are primarily meant for specially abled people or senior citizens who can get these jabs while they sit in their own vehicles.<br />'' <br />''The civic body has also instructed that those planning to get vaccinated at any drive-in centres should not drive themselves and should be accompanied by an attendant or driver.<br />'' <br />''It has also instructed that all those who wish to use this facility will require to book a prior appointment on the CoWIN portal. <br />'' <br />''Meanwhile Bombay High Court on Thursday supported the State Government's proposal for a door to door vaccination of senior citizens and specially abled people.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The BMC had approached the court expressing its intent for door to door vaccination programme and seeking its intervention for urging centre to come up with a policy for the same.</span><br />
