Following a rare citywide power outage that crippled Mumbai on Monday, Maharashtra power minister Nitin Raut has announced that a four-member inquiry committee has been set up to examine causes of the power failure.<br />'' <br />''The committee will also find out why only 50 per cent repair of GIS system was done.<br />'' <br />''AIR correspondent reports, Dr. Raut said four-member committee constituted to probe into the rare power outage will also suggest measures to be adopted to avoid such incident in future.<br />'' <br />''The panel will submit its report within a week. He added the MahaTransco has been directed to conduct root cause analysis and a technical audit of the transmission systems in the state and to strengthen the repair and maintenance protocol.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, Union Minister of State ( independent charge) for Power & MNRE R K Singh said, a team of central officers led by CEA under Power Ministry will visit Mumbai to identify the problem and assist state government in finding possible solutions against such break down. He added that the National Grid was unaffected, and the state grid experienced the breakdown.</span><br />
