Maharashtra Government has sought immediate monetary assistance from the Centre in view of the losses incurred due to Cyclone Nisarga in June and heavy downpour hitting Mumbai last week. The cyclone had caused widespread damage in coastal districts. In a virtual meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said, the state suffered losses of over 1,065 crore rupees due to cyclone Nisarga while Mumbai's torrential rains caused damage worth 500 crore rupees.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">He urged the Prime Minister to hand over a parcel of land owned by the Union Commerce Ministry at Mahul so that a pumping station can be developed there. He said, the pumping station will help in addressing the issue of frequent water-logging in Hindmata, Dadar and Wadala. A statement issued by the Chief Minister's office said, the state has further demanded installation of a doppler radar in Aurangabad. </span><br />
