In a boost to provide quality health care facilities, the Maharashtra government has sanctioned rupees 629 crores for constructing a super specialty hospital at the premises of state run J J hospital in Mumbai.After a state cabinet meeting held in Mumbai on Monday, chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said that to share the burden of the existing health machinery in the city which is seeing a constant rise in population, the cabinet has come up with the decision to set up the super specialty hospital.Chavan said that the 20 storyed hospital, built on the lines of AIIMS, will have 800 beds and will be equipped with modern equipments and machineries.Chavan said that the government will also come up with two more hospitals with modern amenities for the western and the eastern suburban Mumbai.The chief minister further said that the state government has decided to come up with new medical colleges in Mumbai, Alibaug, Nandurbar and Satara.
