<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra government has received 57 proposals from various industrial units for setting up or expanding current oxygen plants so that the supply of this essential gas is not disrupted in case of a probable third wave. All the proposals, if accepted, will increase the state oxygen production capacity by almost 898 metric tonnes per day.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Following the scarcity of almost 600 metric tonnes of medical oxygen seen during the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, Maharashtra had started 'Mission Oxygen' with an aim to become self-sustaining in terms of oxygen capacity.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">All these proposals are spread across the state with plants being planned for Konkan, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik and Amravati.
