Maharashtra Government has planned to supply water from Mhaisal Irrigation Scheme in the Sangli district to the remaining 65 villages in the drought prone areas. State Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil has said that a proposal to provide permanent flood water to the district in the future is also under Government's consideration.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra Water Resource Minister Jayant Patil said that providing water to the remaining 65 villages under the Mhaisal scheme will tuned beneficial for Sangli and nearby areas for the upcoming years. Also, the success of irrigation scheme will help the district to get permanent solution on water scarcity. According to the Minister, due to the planned release of water, the district faced floods last year. Also good amount of rains throughout last year has turned favourable for the district's economy.  He informed, the State Government is yet to fix the supply source of water for the Mhaisal scheme and once the decision is finalised, the irrigation will accelerate the development of this area.</span><br />
