The Maharashtra government has made a similar appeal to the people on the occasion of Christmas festival, which is just a few days away. Some States in the country, including Maharashtra, are already taking precautionary measures after a new variant of coronavirus was found in Britain. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh today appealed to all Christians to celebrate this year's Christmas in a simple way. According to the guidelines, mass held in a local church should not include more than 50 people. Deshmukh said crowding should be avoided in the church and physical distance should be maintained as well as regular disinfection of the church premises should be done. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The use of masks is mandatory for everyone who comes to church. Deshmukh said no more than 10 people should be included in a choir to sing the praises of the Lord Jesus in the church. He said different mics should be used and physical distance should be observed while singing choir. Senior citizens over 60 years of age and children under 10 years should avoid going out and celebrate Christmas at home. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Deshmukh said organizers should make arrangements for online masses for them. He added that religious events or processions that attract crowds as well as fireworks should not be organized. He also appealed to organise the Thanksgiving Mass on 31st December around 7 pm or earlier instead of midnight keeping in view the time constraints. </span><br />''
