Maharashtra government is focusing on availability of oxygen in Covid hospitals. It is ensuring that the hospitals should not have any difficulty in receiving the supply of the oxygen. In view of the increased demand of oxygen with rising number of Covid patients in the state, the state government has come out with various measures to handle the critical issue.<br />'' <br />''Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that the local administration has been directed to set up a liquid oxygen plant in each of the hospitals of the public health department which have more than 200-beds capacity. Tope said it has been made mandatory for every district hospital to have an oxygen plant. He said the need for oxygen has increased due to the rise in coronavirus cases in the state.<br />'' <br />''The health minister said for this, funds from the district planning committee should be used or they would be provided by the health department. Similarly district, division and state level committees and district level control rooms have been established to supply oxygen to the hospitals as well as Covid centres.<br />'' <br />''He added that teams will be appointed to prevent fraud in implementation of Mahatma phule Jan aarogya yojana. The health minister further informed that in municipal areas, the municipal commissioners and in other areas, the district collectors have been ordered to inspect at least 5 hospitals every day. <br />
