<span style="color: #222222;">Amid an unabated surge in Covid-19 cases, the Maharashtra government today extended the lockdown in the state till 15th April, 2021.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">An order issued this evening by state Chief Secretary, Sitaram Kunte stated that state is threatened with the spread of Covid-19 virus and therefore to take certain emergency measures the lockdown has been extended. </span><br />'' <b><span style="color: #222222;"> </span></b><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In continuation with its directions to impose night curfew that will come into effect from the midnight of 27th March where more than five people will not be allowed to gather, it said, violators will attract penalty of Rs. 1,000 per head.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Besides, all public places that includes gardens and beaches will remain closed from 8 PM to 7 AM effective from the midnight of 27th March and the offenders will be charged one thousand rupees as penalty.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In addition to this, any person found to be without masks shall be fined five hundred rupees and those found spitting will be fined one thousand rupees.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The order also says that all cinema halls which include single screen and multiplexes, malls, auditoriums and restaurants will remain closed from 8PM to 7 AM from the midnight of 27th March.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">However, home delivery and take away from restaurants will be allowed during the said time, it added.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the Mumbai civic body has collected fine of Rs. 42,16,36,000 from people who were found without facemasks, so far.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Mumbai police have also collected Rs. 4,35,78,000 from people who were not wearing a facemask.</span><br />''  <br />
