Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde has said that the state government is determined to bring light to the lives of the rural population by organizing festivals like Har Ghar Urja in tribal areas. In a message sent to the Energy festival Ujjwal Bharat-Ujjwal Bhavishya-Power@2047 (Bright India-Bright Future-Power@2047) organized in Shahapur in Thane district yesterday, he called upon  Mahavitaran to expand the program throughout Maharashtra.  <br />'' <br />'' The Energy festival was organized to mark  75 years of Indian independence at Shahapur. Union minister of state for Panchayat Raj Kapil Patil was also present on the occasion. Shinde while maintaining that Maharashtra has always been a front runner in the energy sector in the country, claimed that the state has always followed supporting policy for industrial and agricultural business. He mentioned that the government has taken a decision to install prepaid smart meters which will benefit 1 crore 66 lakh consumers, he said.<br />'' <br />''Kapil Patil said that the center has prepared a scheme for coastal districts of installing underground cables and if Mahavitaran gives a proposal to this effect, the scheme could be expanded in Maharashtra also.
