Maharashtra govt. announces SOPs for amusement parks including indoor entertainment activity and tourist places

Days after announcing reopening of amusement parks including indoor entertainment activity and tourist places, the Maharashtra government has announced SOPs for the same. Besides thermal screening and ensuring that customers follow appropriate COVID protocol, the government has said that digital payments for purchase of tickets for these places must be encouraged.<br />'' <br />''The SOPs issued by the State's tourism department say that prior to resumption of activities, all work areas, public utility areas and open spaces including rides, museums, gardens, food courts, gift shops, theatres, etc. shall be thoroughly sanitized. It adds that regular disinfection of frequently touched surfaces like door knobs/handles, elevator buttons, handrails, slides, chairs, tabletops, benches, washroom fixtures, etc at appropriate times. Visitors and employees should be advised to dispose of used face covers / masks in separate covered bins placed in common areas.<br />'' <br />''The government has asked park owners to properly train staff to conduct cleaning and disinfection at frequent intervals. All staff members must self-monitor their health and report any illness at the earliest to COVID-19 Helpline for medical support. It adds that timings of staff canteen, lockers, changing rooms etc. to be strategically designed to avoid crowding.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Park owners must ensure staggered timing and regulation of physical numbers on these rides so that physical distancing is maintained. People must be advised to carry their own sanitizer. The government has asked park owners to issue advisories whether senior citizens, kids below ten years, pregnant women and co-morbid people will be allowed or if their activities will be restricted.</span><br />
