<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais today launched five futuristic initiatives of the state's school education department. These include Chief Minister Majhi Shala Sundar Shala, Maha Vachan Utsav, Adopt a School Campaign, Majhi Shala Majhi Parasbag and Swachata Monitor. To ensure that the future generations are responsive and responsible towards their environment, these initiatives aim for overall personality development of students.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The 'Chief Minister Majhi Shala Sundar Shala' is a 45 day challenge to win the Best School Award for maintaining its premises clean, introducing the concepts of financial literacy, environment protection, skill development and national integrity in most effective ways. The 'Maha Vachan Utsav' aims to promote reading culture while under the 'Swachata Monitor' campaign, students will take up the job to spread awareness regarding cleanliness at public places. Further to promote a healthy lifestyle, the 'Majhi Shala Majhi Parasbag' initiative aims to encourage schools to grow their own kitchen gardens. While the best ones will be awarded, the aim is also to introduce students to the basics of farming and its importance. The state government has also urged corporates, alumni, social organisations and interested citizens to lend a helping hand by devoting their resources under the 'Adopt a School Campaign', wherein the focus will be on infrastructure development of existing schools.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Addressing the inaugural event in Mumbai, Mr. Bais said it is important for teachers to remain updated, as students these days have access to a lot more information that they gather from the internet. While stating that inculcating reading habit is a must, the Governor urged parents to keep a tab on their children's browsing history. He added that schools must also hold special sessions to explain about the nature and type of cyber crimes and how one should stay safe from them. He also urged schools to reduce homework so that students can focus on extra curricular activities.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Also present on the occasion, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said it is important to set up ideal schools across the state adding that he will be personally monitor the progress of the initiatives that were launched today.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">State's school education minister Deepak Kesarkar said the state is mulling over the idea of celebrity school where students can focus on enhancing their skills in music, drama and public speaking.</span><br />
