Maharashtra Governor invites Chavan, Bhujbal for talks

Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir has invited Chief Minister-elect Ashok Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister-elect Chhagan Bhujbal for independent discussions today over delay in government formation in the state. While Mr Chavan’s meeting is scheduled, the meeting of the Governor with Mr Bhujbal will take place in the afternoon.<br/><br/>According sources, Maharashtra NCP President R R Patil will meet Mr Bhujbal before his talks with the Governor. The decision was taken by the Governor as the deadline for government formation ended today. Pressure from Shiv Sena and BJP to impose President’s rule in the state has also been mounting. The Governor has sought advice from legal experts in this matter.
