Maharashtra Governor SC Jamir today met caretaker chief minister Ashok Chavan and caretaker deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai to discuss over delay in government formation in the state. Today is the last day of tenure of 11th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and pressure has been mounting for President’s rule in the state from Shiv Sena and BJP.<br/><br/>The Governor has also sought advice from legal experts in this matter. It has been 13 days since the results of the October 13 elections were declared but here has been no progress towards the formation of the new government, due to talks prolonging over power sharing between Congress and NCP.<br/><br/>Congress is insisting on keeping the crucial departments like home and finance, held by the NCP in the previous government, while NCP is reluctant to give into the demand. The Congress and NCP combine has always taken its time to arrive at a deal after the polls. In 1999 and in 2004 talks went on for around two weeks. Legal experts say that there is no set time limit for coalition government to come up with a power sharing formula as long as caretaker government is in place.<br/>
