<span style="color: #222222;">In Maharashtra, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari offered floral tributes to Lokmanya Tilak on the occasion of his 166th Birth Anniversary at the Lokmanya Tilak Memorial at Girgaum Chowpatty in Mumbai. The year being the Platinum Jubilee of India's Independence, the Governor unfurled the National Tricolour near the life-size statue of Lokmanya Tilak and planted a sapling on the occasion. The memorial of Lokmanya Tilak stands at Girgaum Chowpatty at the site where the iconic leader was cremated after his demise on 1st August 1920.<br />''<br />''Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also paid his respects by paying floral tributes to Lokmanya Tilak's image in Mantralaya.
