Maharashtra: Four patients die in fire at private hospital in Thane

In Maharashtra, at least four patients died in a fire at a private hospital near Thane early on Wednesday morning. The fire broke out at the Prime Criticare Hospital at Kausa in Mumbra locality. There were no COVID patients in the hospital.<br />'' <br />''Three fire engines and five ambulances were rushed to the spot and the blaze was extinguished. Twenty patients including six in the intensive care unit were evacuated.<br />'' <br />''Local MLA and Maharashtra minister Jitendra Awhad told reporters that a high-level inquiry has been ordered into the fire incident. The Chief Minister has announced a  payment of  5 lakh rupees each as compensation to the relatives of the deceased and  1 lakh rupees each to the critically injured.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Thane Municipal Corporation will also pay 5 lakh rupees as compensation to the relatives of the victims. District Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde said that he has ordered electrical, fire and oxygen audits of all hospitals in the Mumbai MMRDA area.</span><br />
