Taking ahead this tradition, a woman farmer Kalpita Pashte has taken the production of delicious watermelon for the first time on her farm. Kalpita decided to cultivate watermelon in her plot of land and surprisingly she got impressive production. Kalpita and her husband Kumar Pashte have together cultivated watermelon on their 25 Guntha farm.<br />”<br />”They have spent a total of 40 thousand rupees on the cultivation of watermelon. With soaring temperatures, fruits like watermelon which have high water content it has a huge demand. It is to be mentioned that Wada taluka is famous for a particular variety of rice called Kolam. Like any other farmer, Kalpita too had been growing rice but this time around she decided to undertake an experiment and cultivated watermelon to see whether this fruit can be grown in that type of soil.
