Even as Maharashtra is setting new records in terms of Covid -19 cases, the state government is facing another challenge from racketeers who are indulging in black marketing of medicines like remdesivir and tocilizumab. <br />''<br />'' AIR correspondent reports that Both remdesivir and tocilizumab are proving to be effective in the treatment of patients affected with novel cororonavirus. <br />''  <br />'' However, according to the state government both these medicines have a limited supply. As a reason, there has been a spurt in black marketing of these medicines. The state government has directed the food and drug administration department to keep a tab on such activities and take action accordingly. <br />''  <br />'' The FDA and police in a combined operation have bursted rackets at four places in Mumbai and Thane. Minister for food and drug administration, Dr. Rajendra Shingane said that more raids should be conducted across the state where such rackets are mushrooming as complaints are being received from Pune, Nashik and Aurangabad.<br />''  <br />'' In a letter written to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and home minister Anil Deshmukh, Dr. Shingane has also requested them to direct the intelligence department of the police to be vigilant and crackdown on gangs who are indulging in black marketing of these medicines.  <br />''        <br />
