Maharashtra farmers get more state support

Maharashtra Chief Minister Mr. Prithviraj Chavan has announced financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per hectare for the distressed cotton growers and Rs. 2,000 per hectare for the soya and paddy growers, mainly belonging to Vidarbha, Marathwada and Khandesh regions of the state.The CM was making a statement in the Legislative Assembly on the concluding day of the Winter Session in Nagpur on Friday. He said that the fiscal package would cover all the cotton farmers and only those soya and paddy growers who suffered crop losses more than 25 per cent.
