In Maharashtra, Women and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur said that apart from the decision taken by the State Cabinet to deposit one-time amount in the bank accounts of children who have lost both their parents due to COVID-19, efforts will be made to rehabilitate such children by making use of other schemes. She said, children who have lost both their parents due to COVID-19 have suffered a massive mental blow. It is imperative to give them motherly support.<br />'' <br />'' AIR correspondent reports that the scheme which has been approved by the Maharashtra Cabinet would be applicable to children between the age group of zero to 18 years who have lost their both parents on 1st March 2020 or thereafter due to COVID-19 or those who have lost one parent due to COVID-19 and another parent due to some other reason and those who have lost one parent before 1st March 2020 and another parent due to Corona virus. The scheme is similar to the one implemented through PM CARES FUND.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Women and Child Development Department is also contemplating to start a new scheme for children in the age group of zero to 18 years. Women and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur said, if the relatives of such children who have become orphan do not come forward to take their care, then they would be admitted in the government's Child Care Homes.</span><br />
