Maharashtra declares 3-day state mourning for deceased leader Gopinath Munde

Union Minister Gopinath Munde's body is being flown from Mumbai to Latur by an Indian Air Force plane.

From Latur, a helicopter will take Mr. Munde's mortal remains to his native Parli village. The body will be kept in Parali village for a few hours to enable the locals to pay homage to the man who grew up amongst them, and then will be taken for the last rites.

Mr. Munde's last rites are expected to be performed at 2 pm. He will be given a full state funeral.

The State government has declared 3-day mourning in honour of the deceased leader. A number of political leaders are likely to attend Mr. Munde's funeral at his village.
