Maharashtra Cyber cell asks people not to blindly retweet or reshare without confirming it first

<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra Cyber cell has issued an advisory asking people not to blindly retweet or reshare tweets of any celebrity or blue tick verified accounts without confirming it first. The advice comes following the hacking of high-profile Twitter accounts of some of the world's famous personalities including former US President Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Uber and Apple companies.<br />''<br />''Maharashtra Cyber cell has suggested people to change password of accounts from time to time to secure social media accounts. Advisory has also highlighted possible financial fraud through social media therefore suggesting people not to disclose any sensitive information with anyone on social media.<br />''<br />''Some suspicious activities took place yesterday midnight and some of the features of twitter  were not available for some time. Considering the seriousness of the situation Maharashtra Cyber cell has immediately issued advisory for the use of various social media. Maharashtra Cyber cell has also informed twitter India to safeguard the accounts of the users and do the necessary technical changes in its cyber security system and also issued notices to the other social media platforms including Facebook, instagram and whatsapp giving similar instructions.</span><br />
