The Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court in Mumbai on Saturday granted bail to all 9 accused arrested in the Malegaon blasts case against a surety bond of 50, 000 rupees each. This follows the the National Investigation Agency – NIA telling the court that it will not oppose the bail pleas of the nine accused arrested in the case.The serial blasts had occurred in Malegaon town in Maharashtra on September 08, 2006 killing 37 people. The Maharashtra ATS was initially probing the case and the case was handed over to the CBI in December 2006 and later ti National Investi NIA. Swami Aseemanand arrested in the Mecca Masjid blast case had revealed about the alleged involvement of a right wing group in the Malegaon Blasts.In its reply, the NIA told the court that it had reviewed the evidence collected by other agencies and collected fresh evidence too in the form documentary and oral evidence when investing further into the case after the revelation by Swami Aseemanand. the Agency said a decision to not oppose the bail pleas of the accused was taken after due deliberations on the basis of facts and circumstances.But it made it clear that it will not admit any contentions of the accused in the bail petitions so far as they relate to the charge sheet filed by the previous investigating agencies. The NIA said that further investigations are in progress to collect more evidence before arriving at a definite conclusion.
