Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected state due to novel coronavirus as numbers keep spiralling in Mumbai, Pune, Malegaon and Aurangabad. In Pune, the district administration has decided to temporarily migrate 70,000 families from Pune city. It has also decided to deploy 5000 special police officers for the city. Malegaon, another hotbed of Covid-19 pandemic recorded as many as 49 fresh corona positive cases in last 12 hours. Similarly,  Aurangbad, Yavatmal and Hingoli also saw considerable rise in number of Covid-19 cases.
