Maharashtra continues to reel under Severe heat wave

In Maharashtra, severe heat wave condition is prevailing over the Marathwada, Vidharbha and Khandesh regions. The mercury at a number of places in the State is seen going up over the last few days with Jalagaon and Chandraput districts recording 46.5 degree Celsius. In Parbani and Nanded districts of the Marathwada region, the temperature was recorded at 44.5 degree Celsius during the last two days. Because of the heat wave conditions, water scarcity is worsening more day by day. Around 900 villages are facing severe water scarcity in the Marathwada region. The civil administration is making all out efforts to meet the demand of drinking water. The Forest Department has made arrangements to make drinking water available to wild animals by developing ponds and water tanks.<br/> <br/>
