Maharashtra CM holds security review meeting with Dy CM

In the wake of blast outside the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan held a review meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Home Minister R R Patil regarding the security situation in Mumbai and the rest of the state.Addressing reporters in Mumbai, Mr. Patil informed that security agencies have been asked to step up vigilance across the state. He informed that Mumbai’s Police Commissioner, Mr. Arup Patnaik had visited the Bombay High Court to review the security measures there.He further said that the entire police force has been put on a high alert in Mumbai and requested Mumbaikars to report any suspicious activity around them to police. Condemning the blast, Mr. Patil said that it was an attack on the entire country and should be fought in a united manner.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan informed reporters that all the guardian ministers have been instructed to remain present in their respective districts on Sunday, the final day of Ganesh festival to monitor security arrangements.
