Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Takes Swift Action on Pollution: Deploys 1,000 Water Tankers, Calls for Public Involvement, Emphasizes Urban Forest Expansion

Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde today chaired a review meeting on prevailing pollution in Maharashtra amid rising concerns over the air quality in the state.<br />'' <br />''In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to deploy 1,000 water tankers to spray water to curb the dust on the city roads and to appoint a special team to monitor the process. He directed administrative bodies to implement necessary measures to improve the air quality index in action mode. He also ordered the administrative bodies to work together to campaign for a pollution-free Maharashtra.<br />''The Chief Minister said that a public movement should be created by involving citizens in the campaign to prevent pollution. The Chief Minister further said that all municipalities and cities should strictly follow the orders and guidelines issued by the High Court to control the most polluted places in the city.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Mr Shinde directed that municipalities should take the initiative to increase urban forest area (Miyawaki) in the state's metros. The virtual meeting was held at the Chief Minister's residence. BMC Chief Iqbal Singh Chahal and other senior officers were present in the meeting.</span><br />
