Maharashtra: CM Eknath Shinde says recommendations of Banthia Commission Report accepted by SC is a big achievement

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today said that the Supreme Court accepting the recommendations of the Banthia Panel Report on political reservation for the Other Backward Classes was a big achievement.<br />''<br />''Talking to reporters in Mumbai after the top court accepted the recommendations of the Banthia Commission Report, Mr. Shinde said that providing political reservation to the OBCs was the stand of the new coalition government in Maharashtra. He expressed gratitude to the Banthia Commission for collecting the empirical data required to provide political reservations to the OBCs.<br />''<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, henceforth, all the elections in the state will be conducted by giving reservations to the OBCs. Mr Fadnavis also slammed the former Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi Government for not collecting the empirical data and failing to complete the triple test as needed to pave way for the OBC reservation. He said, for 15 months, the State Government pointed towards the Centre alleging that the population data of the OBCs was not provided to them. </span><br />
