Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today said that the state government has accorded top priority to providing houses to police personnel of the state. A review meeting on providing housing facilities to police was chaired by Mr. Shinde which was attended by deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.<br />'' <br />'' In the meeting, the CM directed the state Home department, Urban Development, Housing Development, and Cidco to design a comprehensive action plan to provide houses to police personnel.<br />'' <br />'' The Chief Minister flagged the issue of police personnel being deprived of houses. He said if they are to be provided houses, large-scale housing projects will have to be built. Mr. Shinde said reason planning will have to be done in three phases; long-term, medium-term, and short-term. He said while designing the action plan various options should be explored like rental, urban land ceiling, and projects on the lands reserved for providing houses in other cities among others.<br />'' <br />''While speaking in the meeting deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said that through the police housing scheme, standard police stations and government residential quarters for police are being built. However, he said that these projects are being carried out at a very slow pace. He stressed completing these projects in a time-bound manner.
