On 6th January 1832, Balshastri Jambhekar, known as the father of Marathi journalism started the first newspaper 'Darpan' and since then this day is being celebrated as the Marathi Journalism day in the State. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar have greeted the journalist community in the state on the occasion. To draw the attention of the government to this demand, journalists at Palaspe near Panvel in Raigad district of Maharashtra put new nameplates on the National Highway.</span><br />''
