Mumbaikars and people in the rest of Maharashtra are celebrating the 62nd Republic Day today amidst tight security, even as a general alert has been sounded and security has been beefed up across the metropolis. The Republic Day parade will commence from Shivaji Park in central Mumbai and will proceed towards Matunga and security searches have been executed through this route.
