Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope today said that the state has brought new set of restrictions in view of rising cases of Omicron, new variant of COVID 19. Mr.Tope said, the state government will think about fresh lockdown only if the demand for medical oxygen touches 800 metric tons per day. He also made an appeal to people to follow Covid-appropriate behaviour.<br />'' <br />'' Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that if there is a third wave in the state, it will be of Omicron. Speaking to reporters Mr. Tope has said that the restrictions have been imposed due to the growing number of patients with Omicron. According to the minister, from 9 pm to 6 am, five or more people are not allowed to gather in public places.  He also said that lockdown will be required on the day 800 metric tons of oxygen is required. He clarified that if the rate of infection goes high, the requirement of 800 metric tons of oxygen may have to be brought to 500.<br />'' <br />'' Mr.Tope also enlisted the latest restrictions.According to the minister, attendance at weddings, religious, social and political events is controlled in the state. He added that restrictions of 50 per cent attendance have been maintained in restaurants, movies and theaters, gyms. He clarified that this precaution has been taken to avoid crowds during Christmas and New Year celebrations.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, the minister also said that the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will take a decision with regard to health recruitment exams and efforts will be made to prevent such incidents.
