Maharashtra: BMC sets target of administering one lakh doses daily in Mumbai

<span style="color: #222222;">The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has set a target of administering one lakh doses daily in Mumbai and has permitted private hospitals to keep their Covid preventive vaccination centres open 24/7.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">After the spike in Covid cases in Maharashtra including Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to increase the speed of the vaccination drive. The administration gave permission to private hospitals to keep the vaccination centres open for 24 hours to cater the increasing demand of vaccination in the metropolis.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">BMC has set a target of administering 1 lakh doses daily to expedite the vaccination drive. A meeting was held by BMC administration in this regard which was chaired by BMC chief Iqbal Singh Chahal yesterday.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Senior officials of BMC's Public Health Department, Senior Doctors, representatives of private hospitals in BMC jurisdiction were present in the meeting. Various measures required to increase the speed of the Vaccination Drive were discussed in the meeting. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Additional Commissioner Suresh Kakani also expressed his views in the meeting. The risk of catching Covid is higher among senior citizens. Therefore, more and more senior citizens need to be immunised as early as possible.</span>
