Maharashtra: BMC orders inquiry into Sunrise hospital fire incident

<span style="color: #222222;">BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has directed deputy commissioner disaster management, Prabhat Rahangdale to conduct an inquiry into the Sunrise hospital blaze incident in which 11 persons were killed.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The commissioner has asked the deputy commissioner to conduct an in-depth probe into the incident and submit a report in next 15-days.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports that the hospital was housed on the third floor of the Dreams Mall in suburban Bhandup. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has told Mr. Rahangdale to consider various aspects while submitting the report like what was the main cause of fire in the Dreams Mall.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said the deputy commissioner (disaster management ) will have to consult chief fire officer in this regard.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Besides, to fix up the responsibility of concerned officers regarding illegality in the structure if any.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Also, to check whether all requisite licenses were issued to the mall and the hospital and if not then to fix up the responsibility of concerned officers.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In addition to this, to find out whether there was any lacuna in fire compliances to be maintained and also in fire extinguishing operation.</span><br />''  <br />
