<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra has become the first state in the country to cross the mark of 8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Till 5th April, 81,21,332 citizens were vaccinated in Maharashtra. 4 lakh citizens are being vaccinated every day in the state. A meeting chaired by the State Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte was held today to review planning and coordination regarding corona vaccination in the state. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the Central Government has constituted high level committees for Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Punjab in view of the recent very large numbers of daily new COVID-19 cases. Joint Secretary of Ministry of Housing and Urban affairs Kunal Kumar is nodal officer for Maharashtra. Under his leadership teams will visit the 30 districts of Maharashtra.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, while congratulating the state administration for keeping Maharashtra at the forefront of the country by vaccinating more than 80 lakh people, Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte directed to speed up vaccination. He said that in view of the pace of vaccination in the state, follow-up would be done by the Central Government to ensure surplus supply of vaccines. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Principal Secretary of Public Health Department, Dr. Pradeep Vyas, who was present at the meeting, said about one crore six lakh doses have been received in Maharashtra out of which 88 lakh doses have been used. He noted that the dose wastage rate in the state is three per cent adding that it is extremely low and even half of the national average. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, ensuring implementation of strict restrictions imposed in the state till April 30 to curb the growing number of Coronavirus cases, all shops except those providing essential services such as grocery, medicine, fruit shops, were closed by the police in various districts.</span><br />
