Maharashtra becomes 1st state in country to administer 5 million COVID-19 vaccine

Maharashtra has become the first state in the country to administer 5 million doses. As per ministry of health and family welfare's data, the State has also topped the number of beneficiaries vaccinated till date, as over 50 lakh 14 thousand doses are administered in the state. 43.42 lakh beneficiaries have received the first dose while 6.72 lakh have received the 2nd dose of vaccine.<br />'' <br />''In more than 3 thousand 200 sessions, around 2.71 lakh citizens have been vaccinated in Maharashtra yesterday. A total of 43.83 lakh beneficiaries have been vaccinated in state so far. As per state's health department, more than 22 lakh senior citizens have been inoculated in the state. While 9.4 lakh health care workers have received the first dose of corona vaccine and 4.5 lakh health care workers have received second dose of vaccine.<br />'' <br />''A total of 7 lakh 14 thousand frontline workers are vaccinated in the state out of which 2.14 lakh have received a second dose. More than 5 lakh citizens over the age of 45 and having comorbidities are also vaccinated in the state. In Mumbai, more than 9.75 lakh citizens are vaccinated. Daily around 45 thousand people are gettting vaccinated in Mumbai.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Brihanmumbai Municipal corporation said that, there are around 4 million citizens above 45 years of age in Mumbai and they will be vaccinated in two shifts at 14 centers spread across the Metropolis. BMC is also preparing to complete the vaccination of more than 8 lakh senior citizens by the end of May.</span><br />
