The Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad – ATS is all set to seek the custody of Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal, who has been traced and detained at the India-Nepal border in Bihar. Terming Bhatkal’s arrest as a big success for intelligence agencies, Maharashtra’s Home Minister R R Patil said that the state ATS team would soon leave to interrogate Bhatkal and seek his custody. In a statement issued from Mumbai, Mr. Patil informed that Bhatkal is wanted in connection with eight different cases in Maharashtra, including terrorist attacks in Mumbai and Pune's German Bakery blast case.
After being on the run for over five years; 30-year-old Bhatkal was arrested earlier today. He is also wanted in a string of terror attacks in Ahmedabad, Surat, Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad.
