Maharashtra ATS files chargesheet against five members of Popular Front of India

Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Thursday filed a chargesheet in Mumbai Sessions Court against five members of the Popular Front of India (PFI).<br />''<br />''ATS acted and arrested 21 people from the PFI including five from Mumbai after raids in September last year for allegedly indulging in anti-national activities and waging war against the nation.<br />''<br />'' A total of four FIRs have been registered by the Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad and Nanded units of Maharashtra ATS. The Mumbai unit of ATS has filed its first charge sheet in this case today. The Maharashtra ATS has filed charges under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA) for anti-national activities. The charge sheet was filed before special judge A.M. Patil.<br />''<br />''On the 17th of December last year, the ATS received an extension of 30 days to file the chargesheet, after which it sought another extension of 90 days.<br />
