In Maharashtra, with municipal elections drawing near, the political atmosphere in the state is warming up.Maharashtra NCP vice president Dashrath Patil has quit the party to join Shiv Sena.Patil has cited indifferent attitude of NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad towards party leaders and workers as the reason behind his decision. Sitting corporator of NCP Yogesh Patil and former corporator Surekha Patil also crossed over to Shiv Sena along with Patil.In another development, Samajwadi Party chief of Maharashtra Abu Asim Azmi said that his party is going to contest in 165 seats in the BMC elections in Mumbai.
