The call for a Mahabandh on Wednesday in Chhattisgarh by the Joint forum of farmers evoked a mixed response. While at least two out of the 18 districts of the state witnessed a near total impact of the bandh, the response in the remaining district was lukewarm. The bandh passed off peacefully. The forum had given this state-wide bandh call today to press for its 9 point charter of demands which include increase in the minimum procurement price of paddy, enhanced bonus on paddy and free electricity to the farmers. Adequate security arrangements had been made all across the state to thwart any untoward incidents. <br/>
