Maha landslide: 17 bodies recovered so far; rescue operations in progress

In Maharshtra, rescue and relief operations are going on a war footing at Malin Village of Ambegaon Taluka of Pune District following a massive landslide today morning.

So far, 17 bodies have been recovered from the debris. Around 400 people in 44 houses are feared to have been trapped under the debris following the worst ever tragedy.

Two teams of NDRF including 300 jawans are engaged in the relief and rescue operations despite heavy downpour. The village had a population of around 800 people.

The entire state of Maharshtra is reeling under the grief following the worst ever landslide at Malin Village of Pune District of Maharahtra, this morning.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit the grief stricken village tommorrow morning after a halt at Pune tonight.

The incident came to light after a State Transport Corporation Bus Driver found the entire village along with roads, missing on his entry into the village this morning.
